Rakka-rakka-rakka-rakka-rakka!
“My God man, does it really have to be that loud?”
For some reason, Gian’s always had a weird thing about sound sensitivity, but for certain sounds only. He’s fine at a concert, hell, I’m playing This Town, by Kygo pretty loudly on the stereo I’ve docked my phone into and he’s fine with it. We can still converse, though, so that may be a thing. However, giving some ice a little shaka shaka in the kitchen and he’s ready to fight.
“Sorry about that.” I pour the violet concoction out into a martini glass.” And there you go, an Aviation.” I totally forgot that I was supposed to stir it, not shake it… no point in bringing it up now.
He picks his up and walks around the space. It’s pretty straightforward and open, with somewhat vaulted ceilings for the roof, but lower than they usually are, yet not at all too low. One walks through the door and some stairs almost as soon as you walk in, going down, which to the immediate left is a living room area with a fireplace and a huge sectional. With a Barcelona Chair sitting adjacent to the sectional, with its back against the stairs.
Looking back, there’s a place for a glass, circular dining room table and the kitchen on the left, a hallway to the two bedrooms on the right. Where along the whole right wall, from the enty all the way back, is old, antique looking red brick. The master bedroom door is facing you on the opposite end of the condo while walking down the few stairs. Whereas the second, smaller bedroom door is on the left in the hallway toward the master. The further of two doors from the main area, the closer one is to a bathroom. Whereas the master has an en-suite.
“This place is pretty cool. I like it.” He takes a sip of his drink.
“Thanks, I actually love this place. It’s only about eleven hundred square feet, but it’s distributed so nicely. In addition to being in the Quarter.”
“Haha, yeah, I thought you’d like that. Which is why I put you guys together.”
“Still, I really appreciate it, Gian. I can’t thank you enough.”
“Haha, keep these coming and we might find a way.” He holds up his glass as if to indicate that it’s what he’s referring to.
“Maybe, just maybe.”
He walks over to the sectional and has a seat, setting his drink on the coffee table in front of him and checks his phone. His expression changes a few times, but he ends up putting it in his pants pocket and picks his drink back up. Takes another sip and then turns my way.
“So what were you saying about this gnocca you’re seeing?”
“Honestly? I’m not even sure if I should tell you.”
“You’re not sure if you can tell me? What, does she have you on some kind of radio silence lockdown?”
“No, should. I’m not sure if I should tell you. I know I can… but it could be somewhat tawdry.
